Jamal Saleh has been appointed at UBF (UAE Banks Federation) in July 2018 and became UBF’s Director General on 1st January 2019. Prior to joining UBF, his last role was Head of Credit & Risk and Acting Regional CRO with a large regional bank. Jamal has spent 29 years in the banking sector in Conventional and Islamic Banking, covering Credit and Enterprise Risk Management (Credit, Market, Operational, Liquidity, and IT Risks). His first 10 years were in the USA (in Corporate Credit and Private Banking) and the last 19 in UAE in Risk Management and Credit, all with three leading banks. He served as Director General of PRMIA UAE for 7 years and was concurrently Member on the Advisory Board of The British University. Jamal graduated Valedictorian, summa cum laude, from NJ-USA in Finance & Banking. He is working towards his Ph.D. in the United States on Risk Management in the GCC.
